SOLUTION (Is Matter Around us Pure - 2) in HINDI for Class 9 NCERT Science

In this Science (Chemistry) video in Hindi we explained what a solution is, what its properties are and what we mean by concentration of a solution. Solution is a homogeneous mixture. When two types of substances are mixed evenly, the mixture is called a homogeneous mixture. When we make solution of salt and water or sugar and water, the mixture becomes evenly distribute. Some properties of solution are : 1) A solution is a homogeneous mixture. 2) The particles of a solution are smaller than 1 nm (10^-9 metre) in diameter. So, they cannot be seen by naked eyes. 3) Because of very small particle size, they do not scatter a beam of light passing through the solution. So, the path of light is not visible in a solution. We can also say that the Tyndall effect is absent. 4) The solute particles cannot be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration. The solute particles do not settle down when left undisturbed, that is, a solution is stable. Generally, the substance which is in larger quantity in the solution is called the solvent and the substance which is in less quantity in the solution is called the solute. Concentration of a solution indicates how much solute is there in comparison to the amount of the whole solution. When the solvent can no more dissolve the solvent, the solution is called the saturated solution. But by increasing temperature we can increase the solubility (the ability to dissolve the solute). Concentration of a solution can be measured in several ways.
