SNES Composite VS RGB
This is a video comparing composite vs RGB output on a modified SNES Mini. I highly recommend watching this fullscreen at 1080p. The SNES Mini has been modified via the tutorials on: http://retrorgb.com/ Comparisons: 00:00 - Chrono Trigger Intro Reel 03:05 - Earthbound Intro Reel 04:31 - Super Metroid Intro Reel This footage was recorded on the same exact SNES Mini. The only difference between the two videos is the A/V cord used with the console (and therefore which video signal is being recorded). Both videos are the SNES being ran through an XRGB Mini, which is upscaling the content to 720p. The HDMI output from the XRGB Mini is then being captured by an AVerMedia Extremecap U3. The settings on the XRGB Mini are the exact same for each video, the only difference is the video input being used. There are slight timing variations in Chrono Trigger's intro, this is due to how the game times those transitions and they do actually differ each time the intro is ran. This is not an error recording, or a hardware issue, or anything like that. There is also sometimes some graphical corruption/errors that you can see in the videos. I do not know what causes this, I have seen these same errors on other consoles (including unmodified ones) so I do not believe it is something wrong/unique to my consoles. Also, sorry about the sudden cuts into the beginning of the comparison for a lot of these. That is a mixture between me being bad with capturing the footage and the XRGB taking a bit of time to pick up the video signal when you first power on a console.
