Calabar Ekpe and Cuban Abakuá meeting, 2001

The executive committee of the Efik National Association invited a delegation of Cuban Abakuá to their annual meeting in 2001, held July 28 at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. This spontaneous meeting was hugely successful and led to many further exchanges in Detroit (2003), Calabar (2004), and Paris (2007). El comité ejecutivo de la Asociación Nacional Efik invitó a una delegación de Abakuá de Cuba a su reunión anual en 2001, celebrada el 28 de julio en Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, Nueva York. Esta reunión espontánea tuvo un gran éxito y dio lugar a muchos más intercambios en Detroit (2003), Calabar (2004) y París (2007).
