I Rode 350km Through Brutal Mountain Roads to Find This Silent Lake

We continued our 350km motorcycle journey deeper into the remote mountains of Central Vietnam, right after waking up above the clouds at Noc Tak Po. Today’s ride was a rough 170km stretch through steep, brutal mountain roads toward Mang Den — a peaceful highland town known for its cool weather, isolated pine forests, and quiet lakes. The road wasn’t easy. We got stopped by the police along the way, and some of the climbs were so steep that we had to push our heavy motorcycles uphill by foot. By the time we finally reached Mang Den, night had already fallen. In the pitch darkness, we discovered an abandoned house surrounded by the deep silence of the forest. The next morning, the isolated lake revealed its raw beauty under the soft sunrise light as we prepared to continue our journey through Vietnam’s hidden highlands.
