The Fed's pronouncements regarding a potential interest rate hike and the removal of forward guidance have temporarily strengthened the dollar, leading to a depreciation of scarce alternative assets and a widening of the carry trade, which has once again put downward pressure on the Japanese yen in the intervention zone of 160 units per dollar. However, the expert considers the valuation of 10-year US Treasury bonds at around 4.4% yield, given a public debt exceeding $40 trillion, to be an "inefficiency." He projects that the Fed will be forced to expand its balance sheet and resume printing money in the coming years to finance the government's fiscal imbalances. Finally, regarding structural demand, the role of central banks as a fundamental driver of the gold market has been highlighted. According to data from the World Gold Council, monetary institutions are accumulating purchases at two-year highs, taking advantage of falling prices.
