This is a more powerful and productive version of the already familiar UPT-250M. This is a saw-milling-cutting multiblade machine, designed for sawing thin-section logs into edged boards/blanks at one pass. The new model has a number of design differences, which allowed to raise the average productivity of the thin-section sawing line on 15-20%. What has changed? In difference from its predecessor, UPT-250S allows getting more percent of useful yield when sawing large diameter logs. It became possible due to increase of maximum cutting height from 160 to 200 mm. When sawing logs with diameter of 20 cm and more on old machines of series UPT we had to put up with thick upper slab. There won't be such a problem on UPT-250S: if necessary we can install up to 9 pairs of saw blades - standard saw drive motors of 18,5 KW each can do it. The engine power of the milling unit has also been increased from 18.5 to 22 kW each to increase the average cutting speed of the wood. The feed speed is manually set and is adjusted during operation by the machine's protection systems, protecting the motors from overloading. The productivity of the thin-cutting line also depends on the operator's workload. And now his work is made much easier by a centering log clamp that helps position the workpiece on the infeed table. While sawing on old machines the operator often had to support a log during feed to prevent displacement when entering the milling unit. In the updated UPT-250S the billet is automatically aligned in the center of the log deck. The operator's assistance is no longer required, so it's easier to set up a stream feed. A great help in this is the ability to saw logs without sorting, as the width of the edged board can be changed during the work, based on the diameter of the incoming log. Well, if the "round log" is not quite round - we are looking for a more appropriate position. For this purpose, each section of the log bed is equipped with manual tilting devices. And now the logs go one after another in the right trajectory. A system of levers and shock absorbers carefully guides and corrects the log position. If necessary, the centering device can be easily brought into a passive position. The entry window of the thinning machine is now equipped with a claw guard. This steel curtain protects the operator from coarse chips or stray knots being thrown back. This avoids unintentional injuries in the workplace and thus delays in work. Sawing wood - splinters fly... ...through the air ducts of the aspiration system. The suction capacity has doubled from 5.5 to 11 kW, allowing sawdust to be removed and transported along a pneumatic pipeline to a remote collector, even if the collector is located at a high elevation. And the notorious chips are ground by a reinforced fan impeller - work without clogs and without delays.
