Computer algorithm deciding how much care elderly Australians receive | 7.30
More than 100,000 elderly Australians are waiting to be assessed for aged care support so they can continue to live at home. When they do get assessed, instead of a clinician deciding on their level of care, it's an algorithm. The algorithm's outcome can't be overridden by the clinical assessor, and that's led to comparisons with the Robodebt scandal. Anne Connolly and Ninah Kopel from ABC Investigations report. The ABC will continue to investigate issues with aged care reforms.
