Over time, I believe the real danger is much more subtle: avoidance. For several years, I gradually stopped painting certain subjects. Not because they no longer interested me, but because they presented me with difficulties I preferred to avoid. In my case, it was figures and groups of people that gradually disappeared from my paintings. In this video, I show you the complete process of a painting that forced me to confront this block. A canvas filled with doubts, second thoughts, moments when I wanted to start all over again, but also reflections on fear, progress, and the place we give to uncertainty in artistic practice. Because, deep down, the hardest part might not be painting. It's keeping moving forward despite that little voice that urges us to stay within our comfort zone.
