Janet Jackson - Control • TopPop

Janet Damita Jo Jackson (May 16, 1966 Gary, Indiana, USA) is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress who became one of the most influential pop and R&B artists in music history. The youngest child of the famed Jackson family, she first appeared on television in childhood before launching a music career that truly took off with her 1986 breakthrough album “Control”. This record, produced with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, featured hits like “What Have You Done for Me Lately”, which reached No. 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped charts in the Netherlands while becoming a signature anthem of female independence. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, Jackson released blockbuster albums including “Rhythm Nation 1814” and “Janet”, spawning classics such as “Nasty”, “Miss You Much” and “That’s the Way Love Goes.” One of her successful singles, “Together Again” from the 1997 album “The Velvet Rope”, was inspired by the loss of a friend to AIDS and became a global hit, topping the US Billboard Hot 100 and reaching the Top 5 in the UK, Netherlands, Canada, and across Europe, selling over six million copies worldwide. In 2004, Jackson became the center of controversy after the Super Bowl halftime show, when her boob fell out of her bra. It impacted her career and media exposure. In recent years she has continued to tour, including the successful “Together Again Tour” (2023–2024). Watch our great music videos ❯ https://goo.gl/feVLNN More TopPop?
