Keeping His Eye on the Ball (Mohannad Al-Samarraie, MD)

Five-year-old Parker Turner started tee ball this year, and he's able to keep his eye on the ball in part due to a unique surgery. Parker was born with a rare condition called Duane syndrome, which is a miswiring of the nerve supply to the eye muscle. Although there is no cure for Duane syndrome, Dr. Al-Samarraie was able to help by moving the eye’s vertical muscle outward and weakening the eye’s tight inner muscle.
