Romans - part 29 - “More about LOVE in Action”

Romans 12:19, 21 NIV 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 21 Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. Biblical truth I. Romans 12:15-16: Paul continues explaining about LOVE in Action. 1. ‘Rejoice with those who rejoice; Mourn with those who mourn.’ 2. ‘Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud but be willing to associate with people of low position.’ Do not be conceited (favorable opinion).’ II. Romans 12:17-21: Paul shares about our attitudes toward enemies. 1. ‘Do not take revenge, dear friend, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written, “It is Mine to avenge; I will repay,” said the LORD.’ (See Deuteronomy 32:35) 2. Paul gives three reasons why Christians must not attack back when someone has hurt him. a. Only God has the right to punish actions. b. If any enemy receive kindness, he may be sorry for his actions. c. A Christian must not hate someone who hates him. 3. ‘Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.’ Praise God!
