The Essential Problem in Evangelicalism

Catholics have a relatively easy time distinguishing primary essential doctrines (aka orthodoxy or dogma) from secondary non-essentials. Evangelicals do not have it so easy. Although they attempt to build their list of essential beliefs using the Bible alone, they necessarily import their own beliefs into the scriptural data creating a circular standard for Christian orthodoxy.
