First time solo docking my 2006 Hunter 36 sailboat at pier 3 marina in Philadelphia
I'm in my 4th season of owning my Hunter 36 Sailboat and decided today was the day I would solo dock since I had a friend along who could help out if things went awry. Anyone who owns a medium or larger boat knows the stress that docking can bring, especially when you're just starting out. But after 100's of times with assistance, today was going to be the day I got the confidence to do it solo. Granted it was a low wind day and near perfect conditions. I made sure all my fenders were down and my lines were in position so I just had to line up the boat correctly and move quickly once I got her in position. If you have any tips or tricks to share, please let me know in the comments!
