Sevdah, Bosnian Folk Dance – 2016 FIUTS CulturalFest Performance Showcase

Watch Sevdah Seattle perform Bosnian Folk Dance at the 2016 FIUTS CulturalFest Performance Showcase! Sevdah Seattle's performance showcases traditional Bosnian folk dancing, which has served as an integral feature of the Bosnian culture for centuries. The name “Sevdah” means “love” in the traditional Bosnian language. Through dance and music, Sevdah Seattle attempts to share that love. Although each dance describes a different story, the dances maintain the overlapping theme of love. Sevdah Seattle will be sharing these stories in era-specific folk attire. This performance was recorded at the 2016 FIUTS CulturalFest Performance Showcase on February 20 at Meany Hall, University of Washington.
