Project E30 / Ep. 14 / Replacing the Timing Belt

All this comes out to be about $180. -Here's the crankshaft sprocket holding tool I used. I've used it on Toyota, Lexus and now BMW engines. Not the cheapest thing, but it really does the job. You may have to go to the hardware store to get the correct thread pitch bolts.
