From the Death of the Prophet to the Death of Mohsin: A Chronological Analysis - Syed Muhammad Rizvi

Remembering the tragedy of Fāṭimatu ’z-Zahrā’ (a). Examining the events from the Prophet's demise to the attack on Fāṭima's house. Sunni sources indicate an attack on Fāṭima's house after the Prophet's death, based on Abu Bakr's confession of regrets on his deathbed. Five events occurred after the Prophet's demise, including attempts to demand allegiance from Ali, and his work of compiling the Qur’ān. Three possible sequences for events from the Prophet's demise to the attack on Fāṭima’s house are presented, differing in duration. The "First Attack" occurred a day after the Prophet's burial when attempts were made to force allegiance from the Banu Hāshim. ‘Ali (a) compiled the Qur’ān chronologically, adding marginal notes on occasions and individuals, including praises and rebukes. The compiled Qur’ān was presented to the companions, but some rejected it due to critical marginal notes about their associates. The final attack on Fāṭima’s house took place after the rejection of the compiled Qur’ān, with ‘Umar and others attempting to force allegiance from ‘Ali and resulting in the tragic events at Fāṭima's home.
