Filmed on back roads and in real-world conditions, the video details the technical modifications made by Porsche: a genuine weight reduction of 55 kg, the removal of comfort features, a 20 mm lower suspension, specific anti-roll bars, more direct steering, and an overall sharper setup. As for the engine, the 3.4-liter flat-six remains similar to the Cayman S, but it produces 330 hp instead of 320 hp. The video puts these technical elements into perspective to position the 987 Cayman R within the Porsche family. Can we truly call it a "GT4 before the GT4"?
