2025 Symposium - The Doctor-Patient Relationship: Discovering The Power of Partnership

Dr. Clair Francomano, Dr. Dacre Knight, and Drake Jensen joined us at the 2025 International Scientific Symposium for a panel discussion around the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Clair A. Francomano is an internist and medical geneticist and is internationally recognized for her work in the hereditary disorders of connective tissue. Dr. Francomano is Professor of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Francomano has published over 160 articles in the peer-reviewed literature and has authored or edited four books. Dr. Dacre Knight is a physician-scientist and the Medical Director of the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Center at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at UVA. Dr. Knight established the Mayo Clinic EDS Clinic in 2019 and joined the faculty at UVA in 2025. He currently leads a multidisciplinary program at UVA dedicated to the diagnosis, management, and research of Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders. A former U.S. Air Force Major and seasoned clinician-educator, his academic interests span connective tissue disorders, patient-centered care delivery, and the integration of artificial intelligence in medicine. Born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Drake Jensen grew up surrounded by music, and discovered at a very young age his love and natural talent. He fulfilled his desire to perform in the venues of his home turf, making a name for himself as not only a talented vocalist and musician, but as a performer as well.
