Machine smocking effect using a basic sewing machine.

This video was not made originally for my YouTube channel, but for my students during lockdown. they had watched The Great British Sewing Bee and were not happy with the finished look of the little machine smocked dress made on the programme. I set out to improve on this. Martin is my lovely husband who helps me with close ups of me machining and just to clarify he was not actually rowing the channel but was on his rowing machine taking part in a virtual challenge. At end of this video I mention my next video will be on a shirred summer dress, this i will share next summer.
