Our annual touring week on Beta Alp 200s and KTM Freeride 250s took us to Lombardy at the end of June. It was my second time there; the others know the region very well. It's closer to Germany, which is a big plus. After all, we had to travel around 1,000 km each way in a van to reach Piedmont and Liguria. Driving there on foot with the small, lightly loaded Alps? Forget it. From the narrow village, the road climbs steeply. And how! Steep, bumpy, tight switchbacks. Challenging terrain. Perfect for testing us. And for pushing our mountain goats, the little enduros, to their limits. No walk in the park. But that's precisely why we're here in Lombardy. And why we're chasing the four-strokes over hill and dale.
