Моделирование тонких слоев, пластин и оболочек в COMSOL Multiphysics®

When modeling physical processes in systems containing thin structures (layers, plates, shells, coatings), one may encounter problems caused by the small size of the computational mesh elements that are necessary to resolve thin structures. Given a high scale ratio between the characteristic geometric dimensions of the computational domain and thin structures, solving a full-fledged problem may require unreasonably large computational resources and take a long time. One way to solve this problem is to use special interfaces and models of reduced spatial dimensionality. In this webinar, we will talk about approaches to modeling thin structures implemented in COMSOL. We will provide an overview of specialized interfaces for modeling thin structures when solving problems in structural mechanics. We will demonstrate the use of interfaces and special nodes for optimal and cost-effective calculation of the strength of thin structures. All features and capabilities presented in the webinar are implemented in COMSOL Multiphysics® version 6.1.
