Keeping Tradition: Meskwaki Cattail Weaving
At the Meskwaki Settlement in Iowa, a group of tribe members meets monthly to methodically weave thousands of cattail leaves into mats. This work was originally done to create wickiups, housing structures once used by the tribe.
