The film is based on the popular manga by Anashin, which has been serialized in the manga magazine "Monthly Dessert" (Kodansha) since 2014. It is a youthful love story between the protagonist, Haruno Mizuki (Tsuchiya), who enrolls in high school with the aim of "escaping being a loner" but struggles to fit in with her class, and the basketball club members who grow together while making Mizuki go crazy.
