I started in fishing communities where many families live on their own boats, cook as best they can, and depend on what they catch each day. Then I arrived at a massive landfill that reveals a harsh side of Phnom Penh, with piles of garbage, unbearable smells, and a sense of abandonment that hits you the moment you arrive. 🇰🇭 Later, I entered very poor neighborhoods right next to the train tracks, with precarious houses, complicated streets, and people constantly struggling to get by. The craziest thing is that, just a short distance away, there are luxury car dealerships, modern buildings, and areas with houses worth millions of dollars. That clash between a very poor reality and a completely privileged one was what struck me most about the trip. 🇰🇭 I also visited schools, hospitals, markets, an island where they still make silk by hand, and places that show another side of the country, much quieter and more humane. Amidst all of that, one thing became very clear to me.
