Political Career: Ikramullah was a founding member of the All Pakistan Women's Association and played a key role in drafting Pakistan's first women's rights legislation. She also served as Pakistan's ambassador to several countries, including Morocco and Tunisia. Legacy: Begum Shaista Suhrawardy Ikramullah's legacy continues to inspire women in Pakistan and around the world to pursue their dreams and break barriers in male-dominated fields. She died on 11 December 2000, in Karachi, at age 85. In 2002, President of Pakistan posthumously gave her the highest civil award, Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Order of Excellence) award.
