On the 30th, U.S. President Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at Panmunjom, the military demarcation line between North and South Korea. This was the first time a sitting U.S. president had entered North Korea. This was the third U.S.-North Korea summit, following their meeting in Hanoi in February of this year. President Trump invited Chairman Kim to the White House. Chairman Kim, in turn, told Trump, "This is a courageous decision to settle the bad past and pave the way for a better future."
