The taboo of depression | Silja Björk Björnsdóttir | TEDxReykjavík
Silja shares with us what it is like to be in a state of depression by conveying her own experience. She seeks to destigmatize depression and mental illness and encourages us to take a different look at how we as a society deal with these issues. Silja is a film theory student at the University of Iceland, columnist and motivational speaker who focuses on depression and related matters. Silja and friends' blog: www.freyjur.is TEDxReykjavík was held for the fourth time on May 17th 2014 in Harpa conference and concert center. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
