Her artistry, her story telling, her aesthetic and the whole Cry Baby character were all so interesting to me. I just really admire what she does with her music and all the effort she puts in both her art and shows. I do have to point out though, if you go see Melanie, you go for the show. That was the only let down I have to be honest about. There wasn't really any crowd interaction. Same thing with the Trilogy tour, but who knows, maybe it was a crazy coincidence. Even though I have read multiple fans talking about the same thing. Besides that, she does still pull off an insane show, and if you do not really care for interacting parts, I'd really recommend to see one of her shows live. As for K-12, which kind of aged like milk for me (sorry not sorry if this is offending to anyone), I still remember my first listen of the album and instantly falling in love with Orange Juice, The Principal, Wheels on the Bus, Lunchbox Friends, Class Fight and Strawberry Shortcake. Which is honestly a decent amount of songs to like from an album, and I still enjoy those from time to time. However, ever since PORTALS was released, I think nothing will be able to top that one and it'll always remain my favorite project of hers. Cry Baby being a very close second, I'll always have a weak spot for that one. And of course besides my own taste, I still appreciate K-12 for what it is and can recognize the highs that album has. Especially when it comes to certain topics and songwriting. And the movie was a really nice watch as well.
