Jeep down on power? It could be the throttle body and pedal sensor - Jeep Wrangler JK (07-18)

The Jeep Wrangler JK uses a “fly by wire” throttle system where the gas pedal has a sensor that sends varying voltage to the PCM depending how far you push the pedal. Then the PCM sends info to the throttle body to regulate air/fuel. With any electronic sensor, sometimes they go bad. If your Jeep Wrangler has P2135 it is considered “drive by wire”. Which means that it uses sensors and actuators to control the throttle body. This video documents how to replace the throttle sensor and the throttle body. My check engine light came on and also the little lightning bolt icon came on the dash. When I pulled the codes, it came up with P1235 and P0123 - Basically, the voltage between the gas pedal sensor and the throttlebody weren’t matching so the gas pedal was reading differently to the throttlebody which causes the throttlebody not to open as far as it needs to be relative to the gas pedal. In serious cases, the vehicle goes into limp mode which limits speed to 30 miles an hour.  You press the gas pedal. The accelerator position sensor sends a signal to your Wrangler’s PCM. The throttle position sensors (A/B and C/D) confirm the position of the throttle blade and the PCM adjusts the throttle position based on this input. The two throttle position sensor signals need to AGREE with one another AND the accelerator position sensor. If they don’t agree with one another, P2135 is set. Drive by wire throttle systems use a sensor on the gas pedal to transmit the pedal position (accelerator position sensor) to the PCM, which controls the throttle body.
