PATA REAL South Africa

This PATA REAL session focused on strengthening paediatric and adolescent HIV care through localised, peer-to-peer learning and real case discussions. The session brought together frontline healthcare providers, PATA technical leads, and expert panellists to reflect on facility-level realities, including vertical transmission prevention, maternal and infant follow-up, HIV testing, ART initiation, adherence support, viral load monitoring, disclosure, and psychosocial challenges. Through case presentations and panel discussion, the webinar highlighted the value of practical, multidisciplinary learning to improve service delivery, strengthen continuity of care, and support better outcomes for children, adolescents, mothers, and families affected by HIV.
