Narrowboat Nightmare: Stuck in Foxton Locks & Calling River Canal Rescue! Ep127

After leaving the Market Harborough Arm of the Grand Union Leicester Line, we're faced once again with that dreaded, notoriously tough swing bridge — and unfortunately, the challenges don’t end there. As we head back up the staircase locks at Foxton, things take a turn for the worse. Are we stuck on the cill? Is something caught underneath the boat? Whatever it is, we’re not going anywhere. In the end, we have to reverse Narrowboat 'Assumption Is' back down two locks and call in River Canal Rescue for help. Thankfully, the journey does continue, and we eventually make it up the full flight of 10 locks at Foxton, cruising onwards. We chat about the real costs of living aboard a narrowboat compared to what we expected, and we also touch on our upcoming plans to take 'Assumption Is' out of the water.
