EUROPE has a DESERT?! VANLIFE WILD CAMP exploring the TABERNAS, SPAIN

Adventures in our campervan to Europe's only true desert, the Tabernas Desert in Spain, experiencing vanlife in a harsh yet spectacular environment, the driest region in Europe and yet full of outstanding scenery, walks, and views to remember for a lifetime. This is an explorer's dream and one we feel so grateful and happy to have experienced ourselves in our little VW campervan. After stopping in a free aire in the hills, we head to the desert, not sure what to expect, and we can't believe our luck when we find a wild camping spot in the Tabernas Desert, where we're surrounded by nature in this arid, otherworldly place. We came here in March and the heat was scorching, so we can only imagine what it's like in the summer months. Stephen understandably didn't fancy the desert sun, so I (Dan) went off on a couple of solo treks, exploring this unique region and marvelling at the stark landscape surrounding us. This was truly an unforgettable place, unlike anything we've ever experienced in our van, but one we can only recommend if you're travelling through south Spain and Andalusia. We make these videos for the memories, but we're always glad to have people along for the ride and to hopefully help or inspire people travelling in a campervan or just wanting to make a change in life in general, which is what we did in order to achieve this new existence. Everyone's situation is different, but what we will say is if you can get to experience this life, if only for a while, then do it - we only have the one life that we know of, so make the best of it, live for now, and all the other usual sayings! It's all true! We don't plan to live this life forever - but already, we've done and seen more in 18 months than we'd ever experienced in our lives before this. For that alone, it's been worth it, and all the sacrifices.
