If you like overthinking tv and conversational tangents than you’ll enjoy this. Vanya, like her siblings, is the product of childhood abuse and neglect. She’s screwed over by nearly everyone in her life, from her father to her siblings, and then finally her boyfriend. Her whole life is built on a lie and this results in a lot of problems, the problems are hers but soon become everyone else’s. In this video, we go into her psychology, and the themes and philosophy her story explores. We analyze her character in the context of other tv shows, movies, and visual stories. Vanya is a lot like other comic book characters so her story will feel really familiar if you ever watched a comic book movie or picked up a comic or manga, or heck watched genre TV. I really wish I could have gone into this more but this video is mostly focused on Vanya with a few tangents here and there. There will be other videos, and maybe I’ll explore this trope more then, (the uncontrollable superpower triggered by strong emotions trope I mean) if people are interested.
