Kartvya Path in New Delhi, that runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Raisina Hill through Vijay Chowk and India Gate, National War Memorial to National Stadium, Delhi. The avenue is lined on both sides by huge lawns, canals and rows of trees. Considered to be one of the most important roads in Bharat, it is where the annual Republic Day parade takes place on 26 January. Kartvya Path crosses the road. Rajpath runs in east-west direction. Roads from Connaught Place, the financial centre of Delhi, run into Kartvya Path from north. It was made during the Construction of New Delhi. A 28-foot tall, monolithic granite statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8, 2022, at the newly inaugurated Kartavya Path (formerly Rajpath) in New Delhi. Located under the canopy behind India Gate, the statue signifies a shift from colonial-era symbols to national pride, replacing a former statue of King George V. The National War Memorial (Rashtriya Samar Smarak) The National War Memorial was inaugurated and dedicated to the Nation by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji on 25 Feb 2019. The memorial complex is in harmony with the existing layout and symmetry of the majestic Kartavya Path and Central Vista. Solemnity of the ambience is maintained with an emphasis on landscaping and simplicity of architecture. Apart from the main memorial, there is dedicated area for busts of 21 soldiers who have been conferred with 'Param Vir Chakra’, the nation's highest gallantry award in war. The design of the main memorial exemplifies that supreme sacrifice made by a soldier in the line of duty not only makes him immortal, but also depicts that the spirit of a soldier remains eternal."
