Replacing a CV joint from A to Z on an Audi A6 C5 (Passat B5) by removing the axle shaft (drive shaft). I had to replace the outer CV joint again due to a knocking (crunching) sound coming from the left wheel when turning the steering wheel. This time, I decided to do everything more thoroughly and carefully, so I decided to remove the axle shaft and do all the work outside the car to replace the joint.
