Kagame's Rwanda
Paul Kagame, Rwanda's president since 2000, has brought stability and growth to a country that suffered the tribal division and horror of the 1994 genocide. These achievements have made Rwanda a darling of the West – but woe betide anyone who stands in the president's way. In her latest book, 'Do Not Disturb', Financial Times correspondent Michela Wrong traces the killing of opposition figures back to Kigali and Kagame's government, and asks why Western governments continue to support an administration with such an egregious record on human rights?
