After weeks of building foundations, today is a big milestone... the long line comes off. This is our very first off lead training session together in the woods. There's more freedom, more distractions, and a lot more responsibility for both of us. Will all the retrieving, recall and heelwork we've been practising actually hold up when it matters? I'm not a professional trainer—just a first-time cocker spaniel owner documenting the real highs, lows and lessons of training a working dog.
