Spillville, Then and Now (documentary on Antonín Dvořák's time in Iowa)
A Canadian radio documentary about the three months composer Antonín Dvořák spent in the small town of Spillville, Iowa, in 1893. Spillville in the New World has a surprisingly Czech ambience due to the legacy of its early settlers and their present day descendants. A charming portrait of the town and the compositions he wrote there, offering a glimpse of Dvorak's creative genius through the lens of ordinary life. The program won the 2006 Prix Italia prize for Works of Music in Venice. Director Donna Cressman-Dubois Producer Andrea Ratuski Production for CBC/SRC, Canada Visuals added later by the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra
