Over 7,400+ graduates will take the field at the magnificent Husky Stadium to the cheers and applause of 50,000 family members and friends. All graduates will walk across the 4,200-square-feet of purple and gold stages, adorned with life-size replicas of the University columns and holding over 150 faculty members. Author Daniel James Brown, whose best seller “Boys in the Boat,” about the University of Washington rowing team’s gold medal triumph at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, will deliver the Commencement address. Graduates will have their photographs taken as they receive their diploma mementos (a purple leather diploma cover featuring the official seal of the University of Washington).
