Digits Accounting Platform: A CPA's Review

Hey guys, my name is Jonathan Reich. I’m a licensed CPA based in South Louisiana, and I create content to help small business owners keep more dollars in their pocket and run their businesses more efficiently. In this video, I’m doing a thorough Digits review and walking through a newer accounting platform that was built from the ground up with agentic AI in mind. If you’re currently using QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, or similar accounting software, this is a platform worth seeing. I walk through the Digits homepage and show how its AI highlights key financial callouts like month-over-month changes in payroll, revenue, and expenses, along with the underlying drivers behind those changes. I cover how Digits surfaces insights automatically so you don’t have to dig through reports to understand why your numbers moved. One of my favorite features is the inbox, which acts as your workflow queue. Digits automatically codes what it can using AI and only pushes transactions to you when human review is actually needed. I show how this saves time, improves accuracy, and learns from your decisions going forward. I also review Digits’ core financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and AR/AP aging, along with built-in analysis, infographics, filters, comparisons, and custom reports. I explain how you can use tags, departments, and locations to run detailed project or cost reports. We go through the bank feed, credit card integrations, and how Digits uses AI to reduce bookkeeping busy work while still allowing full control and adjustments when needed. I also demonstrate the bill pay workflow, invoice creation, vendor tracking, customer insights, and payment options available directly inside the platform. For accountants, controllers, and CPAs, I show the general ledger, reconciliations, category manager, and how Digits supports a continuous close with real-time data. I also cover document management and how Digits can read uploaded documents like bank statements and surface discrepancies automatically. Finally, I talk about current integrations, connections via Plaid, Stripe, Gusto, Ramp, Mercury, and the potential for future API-based custom solutions. I wrap up with my overall thoughts on Digits’ usability, clean design, and why I believe it has the potential to become a serious alternative to legacy accounting platforms. Thanks for watching my Digits review. I hope this helps you decide whether it’s worth taking Digits for a test drive and possibly moving on from some of the older tools still out there. #DigitsReview #AccountingSoftware #AIAccounting #SmallBusinessAccounting #CPAReview #Bookkeeping #FinancialReporting #AgenticAI #QuickBooksAlternative
