Falling derrick tilt up technique to raise antenna tower
The falling derrick tilt up technique allows a tower which is laying on the ground to be pulled upright by using a derrick to change the direction of the pulling force on the tower to upwards at a thirty three degree angle above horizontal. The derrick falls as the lift continues until the pulling force brings the tower upright by lifting it with its own guy lines which are attached to the top of the derrick. The tower in the video is forty feet in height.
