In this video, we're taking you on a tour of Colonial Williamsburg, the world's largest living history museum that brings 18th century America to life. We'll start our day at the Visitor Center, where we'll pick up our tickets. Then, we'll head out to explore the streets of Williamsburg, where we'll meet costumed interpreters who will show us how people lived, worked, and played in the colonial era. We'll visit the Governor's Palace, the Capitol, the Liberty Lounge, and other historic buildings. We'll end our day with a rousing address from Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, known in the United States as General Lafayette. A French aristocrat, freemason, and military officer who volunteered to join the Continental Army, led by General George Washington, in the American Revolutionary War. He was ultimately permitted to command Continental Army troops in the decisive siege of Yorktown in 1781, the Revolutionary War's final major battle that secured American independence. This video is perfect for anyone who is interested in strolling through American history or who wants to experience a taste of colonial life. It's also a great way to spend a day in Williamsburg, Virginia. Colonial Williamsburg is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily. Admission is $39 for adults, $29 for seniors, and $22 for children ages 6-12. There are a variety of tours and activities available, including guided tours, musket firing demonstrations, and cooking classes.
