Rome | Italy 🇮🇹

In today’s video I wanted to show you the beautiful city of Rome in Italy or as I call it the open museum city Info: Rome is the capital city of Italy. It is also the capital of the Lazio region, the centre of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, and a special comune (municipality) named Comune di Roma Capitale. With 2,860,009 residents in 1,285 km2, Rome is the country's most populated comune and the third most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. Rome is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, within Lazio, along the shores of the Tiber Valley. Rome is often referred to as the City of Seven Hills due to its geographic location, and also as the "Eternal City". Trip Advisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g... I had one full day to spend in Rome so I made a path to follow so that I could see as many of the famous attractions as possible and I’ll write down there for you with the times as shown in the video: 1st stop: Colosseum [04:00]: I had an online ticket for 11 o'clock in the morning and in my opinion you better pick this time or a bit earlier so that you can spend 1-1.5 hours exploring this impressive monument of ancient Rome. On June I will upload a video from the inside of the Colosseo and there you will also find more info for the tickets etc. 2nd stop: Roman Forum & Palatine Hill: Next, head to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, which are located right next to the Colosseum. 3rd stop: Piazza Venezia & Monument of Victor Emmanuel II [05:40]: Walk for about 10-15 minutes to Piazza Venezia. Here, you can admire the grand Monument of Victor Emmanuel II. 4th stop: Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) [01:41]: From Piazza Venezia, walk about 10-15 minutes to reach the Trevi Fountain. Enjoy the magical view of the fountain and toss a coin for good luck. Extra tip: visit the shop opposite from the fountain for the best view (01:52) 5th stop: Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola [02:17]: This is a magnificent Baroque church in Rome, known for its spectacular illusionistic ceiling fresco by Andrea Pozzo. To fully appreciate the perspective effect, visitors can use the famous mirror placed inside the church, which allows them to admire the intricate details of the fresco without straining their necks. (1€ only coin to activate the mirror) 6th stop: Two Sizes (Tiramisu Stop): From Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio, walk approximately 10 minutes to Two Sizes (Via del Governo Vecchio 88). This small shop is famous for its excellent tiramisu, perfect for a sweet break. 7th stop: Pantheon [02:31]: After enjoying your tiramisu, walk about 5-7 minutes to the Pantheon, one of the best-preserved monuments of ancient Rome. 8th stop: Piazza Navona [03:10]: From Pantheon, walk for about 5 minutes to Piazza Navona. Enjoy the lively atmosphere and beautiful fountains. 9th stop: Villa Borghese [03:42]: Finally, walk for about 20-25 minutes or take a short taxi ride to Villa Borghese. Relax in the beautiful gardens and enjoy a ride with a boat in the artificial lake!
