Johnny Maestro Tribute
In light of the recent death of the late, great Johnny Maestro, I wanted to step away from my usual interests and make a video tribute to a musician who has been dubbed one of the greatest voices of our time. Johnny Maestro began his career with The Crests in the 1950s, the first interracial doo wop group, and despite the ignorance around them, the group had many big songs. In 1968, Maestro combined two groups and formed the 11 member Brooklyn Bridge. Johnny's career spanned 5 decades and included great hits like "Worst That Could Happen," "Blessed is The Rain" and "16 Candles." I am dedicating this tribute to my father (Roy B. of Brooklyn. NY) - the #1 Johnny Maestro fan - and all of Mr. Maestro's fans around the world. I hope this video brings back great memories for everyone and can serve as a way to honor the legendary Johnny Maestro, 1939-2010.
