Testing the quality of cardiovascular stents by simulating the interaction with human tissue
Martin Küttner leads through the biodegradation lab at Fraunhofer IKTS, where the quality of cardiovascular stents is tested. For this he demonstrates a fluid dynamic system for the in-vitro testing of stents. The stents age in this setup outside the human body, while parameters like artificial blood flow and pressure, pH value or chemical content of the test fluid are permanently controlled and adapted.
