First, remove all of the facia nails closest to the soffit panel you are trying to remove. Use a clip removal tool - it works really well for those small size nails. Push on the facia a little bit to get under the head of the nail and pull it right out. Once all of the nails removed, you will have just enough play room to remove soffit. Soffit panels are held in place with staples or nails that can easily be removed using long nose pliers. Pull back the facia and release the front edge of the soffit. After that the entire panel should slide right out. Using hook tools is really helpful as well. Putting the soffit panels back is a bit more tricky. Soffit panels connect to each other. Previous panel fits into the groove of the next one. Insert the back side of the soffit panel into the channel on the wall. Don’t worry about the sides just yet. Push the front edge behind the facia. Connect side of the soffit that has the groove. If necessary, use hooks to move it around. Next insert the other side into the groove of the next panel. Staple the soffit panel and nail the facia. You are finished now.
