The Shape Stalks Again (A Halloween Fan Film Clip)

Back in college, I took a scene from Halloween II and re-created as an exercise to develop my own sense of direction for a scene. I didn't reference Part 2 when I was making this in terms of pacing, rhythm, or shot composition, but did try to invoke Nick Castle's performance from Part 1 in Michael's walk. This scene begins the moment after Michael has stabbed Nurse Jill, and ends as Laurie runs out to the HMH parking lot, and I wanted to give a different feel to represent the inhuman qualities of Michael. I did this in 2 ways: 1) Once Laurie runs off, she is completely out of Michael's sight for the entire chase, and even though he is always one location away from her, he always knows exactly where she went. 2) Even though Laurie runs through multiple doors during the chase, we never see Michael open any of them. Whenever we see him, he is moving steadily forward, not affecting the environment around him at all.
