In this video, I went to Tacuba to experience a very special tradition called Las Primicias (The First Fruits). I thought it was just a regular parade… but I found something completely different. Floats decorated with fruits, vegetables, and palm fronds, queens on each float representing neighborhoods and communities, and a huge amount of produce that is later offered as the first fruits of the year. The tradition began in 1988, when the community obtained a permanent priest and decided to dedicate their first harvests as an offering. But the craziest thing happened at the end… All the fruit was taken to a field where people could buy the produce, and when they opened the gates… it was absolute madness! 😅 People were looking for the best fruit, buying quickly, and trying to grab the best.
