Making @mtbtrailshredders SWEAT in Borrowdale - Shimano Vs Avinox | Lake District MTB

Join ‪@mtbtrailshredders‬ and I for a bit of Lake district mtb, backwards on the Borrowdale bash, followed by a proper mountain route bagging 4 Wainwrights. Karl turned this into a Avinox Vs Shimano motor battle and did his best to save every last bit of battery on this 20 mile 5000ft route. In the end he got back with ~13% to my 28%. The difference however was in the physical expenditure, I'd cruised route in the right power mode for each section and enjoyed the immense views, Karl eco'd his way round and sweated a lot, and did a significant amount more "walk mode", Watch the full adventure and judge for yourself! ⛰️ Honister Pass (356 m) • ⛰️ Dale Head (754 m) • ⛰️ High Spy (653 m) • ⛰️ High Spy North Top (634 m) • ⛰️ Maiden Moor (575 m) • ⛰️ Barrow (455 m) Karl : Kev - Battery Levels 100 :100 80 : 77 60 : 63 40 : 49 20 : 34 Route & Adventure: Check out my Strava route here:   / strava   Join me on Sunday evenings for full suspension eMTB adventures, Getting Outside and Enjoying Nature 🚲 The Bike: 2026 Orange Phase Avinox - Factory / Custom Spec. 2027 Fox Factory 38 Forks & 2027 Fox Factory Float X2 Shock Avinox M2S Motor and 800wh battery Full Hope Black and Red Build kit 00:00 - Today's Ride: Backwards on the Bash 02:34 - DJI Avinox Motor Update causes blip 05:25 - Climbing Castle Crag: Peak Power Test 08:30 - The "Tough Bit" & Friendly Banter 11:42 - Cruising Through Borrowdale 13:20 - Comparing Motor Noise: Avinox vs Shimano 14:15 - Stunning Views of Red Pike & High Stile 16:40 - The False Summit Struggle 19:10 - Warming Up for the Descent 22:15 - Techy Gorge Crossing 23:25 - The Long Grind to High Spy 25:40 - Extra Peak Bagging at the North Summit 27:30 - Descent Towards Cat Bells 30:20 - Testing the Limits: Steep & Rocky Section 32:15 - The Final Climb: Stonycroft 34:40 - The Verdict: Shimano vs Avinox Battle 36:30 - Final Descent & Ride Wrap Up 🎥 Watch Next - My eMTB Tests: My quest to ride different eMTBs to evaluate components, geometry and motors #1 Orange Patriot 2024    • eMTB Orange Patriot Bosch REVIEW 2000km in...   #2 Cube One44 2025    • eMTB Cube One44 2025 - Test and Review on ...   #3 Haibike Pinion MGU 2026    • The Future of eMTB? Pinion MGU Haibike 202...   #4 Amflow Avinox 2026    • 2026 Amflow PL Pro eMTB Avinox DJI eBike T...   #5 Static Shred-E    • Bolly Skyline Enduro Preview 2025 all stages   #6 Trek Rail 9.7 Bosch CXR TMo's RACE Trek    • Trek Rail 9.7 eBike Bosch CXR Motor - Trac...   #7 Cube One77 2026    • eMTB Cube One77 2026 - Test and Review on ...   #8 Amflow PX Carbon 2026 2027    • Amflow PX Carbon Test and Review - 1500w B...   Support & Gear: Join for FREE on Patreon (or help out with a paid sub) www.patreon.com/KevGetOutsideEnjoyNature Buy me a coffee to support: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/OGWH Affiliate link for Insta360 Go 3: https://www.insta360.com/sal/go-3?ins... I cover routes, climbs, descents, and adventures across the UK, England, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Wales, Snowdonia, Scotland, Highlands, Cairngorms and beyond. No bike park edits here — just genuine riding and exploration. I might not be riding with the style of Sam Pilgrim or Adam Brayton, and my edits might not be as good as BKXC or McTrail rider - but watching, liking, subscribing and maybe soon I'll be able to afford more camera's, a drone and make a step improvement.
