-1/-1 Counters - Failed MtG Mechanics
One of the most common mechanics around is +1/+1 counters. These counters modify a creature’s power and toughness, increasing their stats and making them better at combat. -1/-1 counters, obviously, do the exact opposite, reducing a creature's stats and making them worse in combat. However, while +1/+1 counters are very common, -1/-1 counters rarely show up. Today, we’re going to explore this mechanic and go over why it’s been so unsuccessful over the years.
